Probably unimportant to most because he was one of the comedians who let the
greatests toss pies in his face. People like Frank Sinatra.

But, when I was a kid in 1970, Runt by Todd Rundgren was popular and Hunt Sales
played drums, and Tony Sales played bass on the album. And they did it again
on the next one. They're the sons of "Soupy"

By 1977, the kids were on their way with Iggy Pop, that song "Wild One" was the
kids holding down the now famous back beat.

Bowie caught them working with Iggy, so they became the trio "Tin Machine" with
him!

Soupy was fine when I was a child, but Hunt Sales and Tony Sales were because of
him.

Soupy was a hoot, IMO. We names one of our cats Pookie after one of Soupy's
puppets. I loved his shows.
RIP Soupy

I think Soupy will be remembered longer than his sons. Played for
Bowie...big deal.

Sorry for his loss to his family, but honestly, I just never really got
the pie in the face thing.
Kinda like the whole British comedy preoccupation with men in drag.
It might be funny once or twice, but after that, it wears thin, big time.
