Oct. 28th for Japan, Nov 3 for NA, cuz, well the international date line is
crossed and they are 3 days behind us so it will be on the same day : )
Its like entrapment to download since the NA date is the last to go.

Seriously you're right, two-weeks out and still no leakage, must be any day
now

Good question, no good answer.

Tom

All albums should be released on a worldwide date.

I agree, but I understand its customary in different countries for
albums to come out on different days of the week. What I do not
understand is why they are released in the order that they are. I
think maybe piracy is a bigger issue in europ and asia than it is even
in america? So therefore they release there first to beat the
pirates? But at the end of the day, the damn slayer record should be
available in LA before it is in Berlin or Yokohama.

Yet some of you guys complain when European bands release stuff ahead
of America, but don't care if the situation is reversed. Do you have
some rights the rest of world doesn't have to hear something first?

As for Slayer I would suggest it's logistical issue with who ever is
the distributor is, rather than a snub to the fans. However if you
want to take it as a personal insult, I am sure the band will bend
over backwards to offer you an apology and maybe be blow you at the
same time.

At the least, release it worldwide the same week. As you say, albums
are released on different days. In the US, it's always a Tuesday.
Seems like it's usually a Monday in most of Europe.

Dave complains about RR and such.

"Thanks for nothing, [Roadrunner]."

In a separate posting on the MEGADETH forum, Mustaine reveals his
disdain for the U.S. branch of Roadrunner Records for allegedly
dropping the ball in regards to the promotion of the band's new album,
"Endgame".

He writes, "I don't know what to say. How a record company could be
presented with a worldwide critically acclaimed record, and that they
can let it plummet down the charts in just four weeks into the
hundreds, is inexplicable.

"I knew I shouldn't have done this. Why didn't I trust myself?

"I regret a lot of things in my life, but this is the most
regrettable."

"Endgame" has sold around 72,000 copies in the United States since its
release four weeks ago. The CD has registered the following U.S.
weekly sales, according to Nielsen SoundScan:

Week 1: 44,696
Week 2: 12,833
Week 3: 8,640
Week 4: 5,583

"Endgame" currently sits at position No. 105 on The Billboard 200
chart.

What, Dave doesn't know there's a near depression going on in the
US? He doesn't know that his previous few albums probably haven't sold
over 200,000 in the US yet, so what size fanbase does he think he
still has? Does he not know that few people even bother to buy music
anymore?
Does he think the RR street team has to be out at every place you
can buy CD's now (less and less every day it seems) with guns and
telling every customer if you come out without the new MD album,
there's going to be trouble.
Maybe Dave's a conspiracy nut-job and thinks RR doesn't want to sell
any CD's. But you can't force people to buy your record, no matter how
good you think it is, or the critics, or even those who just
downloaded it and never bought it yet.

Yeah, he needs a reality check I guess...although I suppose it`s hard to
swallow when you used to sell millions but now only sell hundreds of
thousands...especially when one band in particular still *do* sell
millions!!

Blabbermouth has a video of Tom, Kerry and Jeff talking about a new
song...which can be heard in the background whilst they babble on. Sounds
pretty good to me.

Perhaps, but I doubt St. Anger and DM have sold numbers anywhere
like the BA and before have.

Death Magnetic has sold over 5 million worldwide from Wikipedia`s figures..

I was actually just thinking of US sales. I believe that's all Dave
is complaining about. US RR has dropped the ball, he says. DM and SA
probably have only sold some 2 million each in the US. I know, only
and then saying 2 million, seems out of proportion. I know many bands
would love to sell only 2 million in the US.

Quote:
The  Black album was just one of those albums that was in the right place at
the right time, very few albums in history make that sort of impact...what
is it on now, something like 50 million?

I don't know. I believe it's sold around 15 million in the US alone,
and runs some 5,000-10,000 a week in sales after all these years.
Surely it broke them bigger than they ever probably expected.
If you could go back to the early days and tell them, after they
releashed KeA, and say, "you will record an album in 5 or 6 years that
will sell some 8 million in it's first full year of release in the US,
and sell 40-50 million after 15 or 20 years worldwide." I think the
band would laugh in your face.
