(Fangoria) - I was a little bit surprised last week when a
"biohazard" bag arrived at my doorstep. The clear plastic,
medical-grade bag bore the unmistakable red/orange
BIOHAZARD logo/warning, but beneath that was another
familiar logo. SLAYER.

Contained in the ziplock bag was a photo, bio, and a copy
of the band's long-awaited new album, WORLD PAINTED BLOOD
(Amazon.com: http://tr.im/WorldPaintedBlood ).

After numerous failed attempts to give the album a few good
spins this weekend, I finally dug out my now-ancient Sony
Walkman CD player, hooked up some earbuds and retreated
into darkness to give the album a thorough and proper
listen for a track-by-track breakdown..

Sounded promising unitl the end of the review "Slayer has been on the
upswing for the past three albums"?? Most people think that`s when their
downswing started!!

well if the new one is better than CI and CI killed GHUA, and GHUA was
arguably better than DIM (not sure about this one, both were just
never wanna hear em again bad IMO) that would constitute a 3 album
upswing.

I'm a bit excited about the "punk influences" the reviewer finds,
which obviously means crossover.

But we'll see.

I probably prefer DiM to GHUA...there are about 5 really good songs on
Diabolous, more than GHUA. I don`t think either are *bad* per se...although
I hardly ever listen to them. I read that comment as the last 3 ( ie DiM,
GHUA and CI ) were the upswing from a previous poor run.

Hardly difficult now was it. GHUA is nearly a shit stain of St Anal
proportions.

You think it`s that bad? I find GHUA perfectly listenable...although I
rarely choose to do so. It`s infinitely better than St Anguish.

Largely agree with fruit pie here, although "perfectly listenable" is
probably not harsh enough.

Both GHUA and St Anal have had two full spins from me. They will
never in a million get a third.

St Anal is worse, but because of the Loads I was used shit from
Metallica. The fall that is GHUA was quite a shock to me and I hope
never to hear the same level of shit from a Slayer record.

I don`t even consider GHUA a bad album, just completely meh. I have no
aversion to it and am quite happy to listen to it if someone puts it
on...whereas in most circumstances I`d ask for St Anger to be switched off!

I really don't want to listen to either, ever again. They're both
shit and I really can't add anything more. If the security services
want some less obvious torture techniques I can think of two prime
examples.

(Fangoria) - I was a little bit surprised last week when a
"biohazard" bag arrived at my doorstep. The clear plastic,
medical-grade bag bore the unmistakable red/orange
BIOHAZARD logo/warning, but beneath that was another
familiar logo. SLAYER.
Contained in the ziplock bag was a photo, bio, and a copy
of the band's long-awaited new album, WORLD PAINTED BLOOD
(Amazon.com:http://tr.im/WorldPaintedBlood).

Most people think that`s when
their
downswing started!!

well if the new one is better than CI and CI killed GHUA, and GHUA was
arguably better than DIM (not sure about this one, both were just
never wanna hear em again bad IMO) that would constitute a 3 album
upswing.

Cept for the fact that DiM is better than GHUA.
Hardly difficult now was it. GHUA is nearly a shit stain >of St Anal
proportions.

You think it`s that bad? I find GHUA perfectly listenable...although I
rarely choose to do so. It`s infinitely better than St Anguish.

Both GHUA and St Anal have had two full spins from >me. They will
never in a million get a third.

St Anal is worse, but because of the Loads I was used >shit from
Metallica. The fall that is GHUA was quite a shock to >me and I hope
never to hear the same level of shit from a Slayer >record.

I don`t even consider GHUA a bad album, just completely meh. I have no
aversion to it and am quite happy to listen to it if someone puts it
on...whereas in most circumstances I`d ask for St Anger to be switched off!
