Hey I was just wondering what media player is in widest use here. I
personally have just switched to Winamp due to me getting into flac
files pretty heavily. I tried songbird and it's okay but still has an
unfinished feel to it. Also if by some wild chance any of you are
running windows 7 and winamp I highly recommend downloading the winamp
win 7 integration plugin.

I use winamp, always found it to be the best for my needs.

Still iTunes here. It's nowhere near the best, but I listen to and
update the ipod so often, it's the most convenient.

Running Winamp here and have done for years. Don't use Itunes often
enough to use it and the media player with windows sucks. I may get
Windows 7 once it's released. I can get the free upgrade, so I might
opt for that. Though the robbing bastards are charging something like
£20 to £40 for delivery.

I use itunes for the same reason and do find it meets my needs...although
it`s a bit of a systems hog. I tried winamp a while back but it never worked
properly and I couldn`t work out why so deleted it.

Maybe I'm a dinosaur here, but I still use a CD player separate from
the Computer.

Well if you're using apple lossless files then you're fine. I don't have
an ipod just a cheap ass $30 RCA mp3 player that pops up as a removable
drive in windows and I just drag and drop in explorer.

spinning for a fraction of a second.....but by then it will be

Is it worth upgrading to Windows 7? It won't be the Ultimate version,
just an upgrade from Vista Home Premium. I have heard that is has a
slower boot time (ie the computer is usable rather than Microsofts
claim that is shows the desktop quicker).

It's not a huge change from Vista, the performance is roughly the same,
but if you have a massive amount of crapware from your computer
manufacturer in your default windows install it may be worth your while
to upgrade. There's nothing in ultimate that's worth the price except
for the fact that I got it free so woo. If I actually had to buy 7 I
would've waited until I built my next computer. I'm a PC enthusiast and
I like building new systems about 6 months after a new version of
windows comes out but with me being broke I may be using this machine
for a bit longer but that's okay.
