RIP Cliff Burton

I am probably in the deep minority on Burton. I agree that he was a
good bass player (with *phenomenal* presence) and by far the most
musically versed of the band, but where I disagree is with the people
who insist that "if burton was alive Metallica would not have gone
down the suck path."

I strongly believe burton's survival would have *expedited*
Metallica's experimentation, and since hetfield writes all the music
(lars' writer contribution is all ego, no substance) it would not have
necessarily have been any better.

To back it up: they now have one of the greatest bass players in all
of metal, a guy who has been involved in some *kick ass* music over
the years, and death magnetic is overall just "pretty good."

There is no love of any kind for top-posters. It's just wrong.
Perverted and wrong.

I was gonna call bullshit, because I couldnt recall trujillo playing
on anything that was better than mediocre over the years, and then I
wiki'd him and peeped his discography, and I can't find anything
better than "horrible" that he played on.  I'm not giving him credit
for playing overdubs on reissues of ozzy classics.

Suicidal kills, you fool.

too bad he didnt play on the good material.

I feel a bit shitty for being over sentimental and touchy. You have a
right
to say what you want. I'll stop my bawling now. You guys are all cool
in
my books, and I should just be thankful to hang out here because of
the
education you provide me on my kind of music.

'Nuff said,
