Anyone knows what the s-40 under serial number in a Buescher Aristocrat
stands for?

A guess: S-standard; 40-440 or standard, 440 tuning? Just a guess.

The model number for alto Aristocrats at one time was 140. After the
Selmer buyout, it later became S-40. |
