Oh I find it fun to read what people write about their heroes. Back
in the day Metallica sheep were fun to bait and I have certainly seen
enough bait put out for the Pantera sheep. Some sheep were just more
rabid than others.

Flamefest.
I loved Metallica back in the day, but as they got worse, I stepped
back. Now to the point I don't even mention them.

Have you not noticed you out on your own here. That's always a
problem, especially when your head is stuck so far up your arse.
They're TOTALLY "easy listening". I get them mixed up with the Alan Parsons
Project all the time! "Eye In The Sky" sounds like any run of the mill
Floyd song to me! Then again, I don't smoke pot.
They have always been rock, from psychedelic ROCK to prog ROCK. I
don't smoke pot either, but nor am a clueless idiot. Unlike some.

Hmm a Floyd day?
Rock sucks. The day rock & roll got turned into rock and lost its
soul and became about hirsuit white guys trying to be artistic through
drugs and guitars instead of trying to make people move their asses
was really the days the music died, not when buddy holly crashed in
the plane.
I'll take rock over rock'n'roll every single day of the week.

Are you trying to insinuate I might like meshuggah, even the early
stuff?
No, just that you don't seem to like many bands later releases. It's
like you only like a demo tape they put out before they even had a
deal, that was limited to 100 copies the self taped on a 2 cassette
boom box thing.
Anything mass produced though, sucks balls.

Lo-fi is horrid, just horrid. Now while I understand for some bands
there is no choice, but to make a record sound that bad on purpose?
Madness.

I don't know. I think having a DM or BM album sound crystal clear
probably would ruin the experience. I do understand what you're saying
though, with any band who sells major amounts of albums. There's no
excuse really.

I don't mind crystal clear, or a more raw souding one, just not one
that sounds like the recording studio is actually a still fully
functioning public toilet, with the obligatory dirty old tramp
sleeping in one of the corners.

I have seen it in equal measure. The fanboi's are fairly rabid even

to do with it, as at the time (of Vulgar and FBD) it appear that metal
had gone soft. Or certainly metal that was more in the public eye.
Then this group apparently comes out of nowhere wanting to thrash (oh
how their fans denied the glam stuff - just like the band).

Two half decent albums, at best. (22.6575757575575 listens for Tom)
Dipshit Darrell being hailed by most metal magazines as "one of the
greatest guitarists of all time" and the band being listed by most
mags as "in the top most influential/important" qualifies as FUCKING
OVERRATED.
Just because the masses are generally clueless does not mean they
don't count in a discussion about overratedness.

The hack rated DD in his top 10 metal guitarist in his recent book.
He blathers on about technical shit, then has twats from Meshughh and
Slapknut in his top 20.

I think the hack was hoping some youngsters would buy his book, so
included loads of talentless rubbish in his top 100. Don't forget his
main aim with book is to sell as many copies as he can, and if that
weren't the case we'd never get the good books he has written...such
as his Clif Burton one.
Or the Slayer, Sabbath and QOTSA. |

What some people think is only given, others believe it to have been
earned. It's all according to one's point of view.
Tom
Plenty of people have produced half-decent music like DD did, but they
don't get the sycophantic idiots blathering on about them
constantly.
