I haven't heard from him. I think this was the only forum he was still
allowed to post in. Anybody heard?
I think he had to be banned when he quoted the racist rants. I
couldn't believe he went there.

anything they want and say whatever they want with no
consequences......it's the internet eq

BEFORE I WAS SO RUDELY INTERRUPTED:

It's the internet equivalent of writing on the bathroom wall, and is
often the forum of last resort for those who are not allowed to post
anywhere else.

This group used to be very active. I've been participating here since
1995 or so. Pretty much everyone who had any interest has left, for
obvious reasons. I'd say the total audience for this group is less
than 30.

It depends. This is how it was explained to me:

Most service providers have stopped supporting Usenet news servers.
Most free remaining Usenet servers do not allow 440 posting, which
means you can read but not post.

An alternative to a usenet server is dejanews, now owned and managed
by google, which requires a google user login to post. If a user posts
here through a google account, as I am doing now, their account, thus
their login, thus their posting privileges can indeed be shut down by
google.

That might have happened in this case given the messages that contain
racist content. An offender can get back in, however, by registering
with a different userid (an alias) with a different email address.
Perhaps that is what you meant.

Your obese, albino boyfriend likes racist posts:

http://groups.google.com/group/soc.culture.african.american/browse_thread/thread/6bd5bf0c2a3c0860/32645be6571a5f62?

If it doesn't bother you about the one, why should it bother you about
the other?

You don't make any sense. You are not remotely a rational person.

Let me amend this because I gave the wrong impression (a face-saving way to
say I was wrong Smile ):

Some free news servers do indeed allow posting. I just switched to
freenews.netfront.net so I can use my Outlook mail/news reader program
rather than google's website.

A benefit to such a service is that messages deleted by the original poster
from within google do not go away or otherwise change when the group is read
this way. And anyone can indeed read and write to the newsgroup and cannot
be banned. The anarchy that is the internet is alive and well. Long live the
internet.

He should have just linked the comments to make his point.
