This event has been named a national convention for the American
Motorcyclist Association, one of only four this year. The event runs
Oct 2nd - 4th. This years theme is a salute to law enforcement. This
is a family friendly biker event. We will be playing from 1-6pm on Oct
4th on the circle in downtown Sebring Florida on a covered stage. We
will be playing mostly R&R with some high energy jazz thrown in. We
will be introducing vocalist Shannon Marrero as our newest addition.
She is an accomplished female singer who can play some keys and will
add a new dimension to our group. she has a five octave range and can
sing any style. If you come to the event, stop by and say hi.

Just trying to help Chuckie. Five octaves. Wow, that would be from
one octave below middle C4 which is C3 (an octave below where most
women can sing) to C8 which is 9 leger lines above the staff.
Hmmm . . . are you sure about that range? |

Nice to hear about actual musical events here. Surely is a wide
range; though Mariah Carey, Yma Sumac, Brett Manning and a host of
others I can't come up with off the top of my head have such a range.
At issue is; can she use it? Lots of superb vocalists with two octave
ranges.
So- not a requirement and not in and of itself a guarnatee of vocal
excellence but certainly good for that extra shot of spice on the
performance if coupled with a sound mastery of singing. Toss in some
keyboards and she sounds like a great addition. Give 'em hell- Henry |

There's the "play music for a living outlook." There are those who
simply love to play and would, gladly, do it for free beer and
expenses and those who play for a living and have decidedly more
commercial bent when it comes to sizing things up. I don't know where
Groovus comes down on the continuum.
I do know my sister played with the Opera in the Park production every
summer in NYC and it was one of those deals where very talented
professional musicians were supposed to bust their behinds and be
grateful to the public for showing up to listen. Perhaps a bit of an
overstatement but not much. |

Groovus has been paid well for every gig since 2003. We are the one of
highest priced acts in town. We do most of the high profile gigs
around here.
We will be opening the 2009-2010 season for the Music in the Park
Series at the Highlands Hammock State Park. This will be our 5th
year. We are the second highest draw there behind the "california toe
jam band" that has been around here for 25 years and are very, very
good.
John seems to be having a spell. Someone call his doctor............... |

There you go parroting Goodson again. You two were just made for each
other Chuck. When you talk, I can hardly see his lips move. You
mimicked his words about Summerhays owning Cannonball which was a
baldfaced lie. You mimicked his alluding to my being a pedophile and
trying to attract young boys with the Harri Potter avatar, also a
vulgar and defamatory lie. You mimicked that Cannonball put me up to
attacking him on the internet because they were afraid of losing
business to him, which is a lie and absurd to boot.
You know what? By mimicking a liar, it makes you a liar as well. You
might as well respond with the rest of his script, you know about
changing hands wacking off, and going back under my rock, and of
course the ever popular needing to take my meds because I'm crazy.
These works on these discussion forums are going to be here a long,
long, time Chuck. Think about who and what you've hitched your wagon
and reputation to. I would warn you not to get too close to him in
case the slime rubs on to you, but I'm afraid it is too late for that. |

Give 'em hell- Henry
This girl is the best singer in this county. She has her own
following. She can sing delta blues, rock and roll or classical and a
super nice girl too. She sigth sings or sings by ear. She can sing
lead or harmony. We are excited to have her. She can
sang.........................

Did you type all that out? I think it might just be good therapy to do
so if you didn't.- Hide quoted text -

This is a public forum. Announcing upcoming gigs is a common thing to
do. I am sorry if it makes you jealous, John. Some of us musicians
actually play for people and get paid too.- Hide quoted text -
The event drew over 50,000 people over the three days last year.
Organizers aren't sure what to expect this year.
I only announce the big ones John. If I announced them all it would
get redundant.- Hide quoted text -
