Are there any modern *simple* hardware MIDI sequencers still made? Sort of
like the Alesis MMT8 or the various low end Yamaha QX devices but with
modern features like flash memory, USB connections, but not as complex as
grooveboxes etc?

What do most people use for live situations when they need MIDI sequencers
for live use? Laptop/notebooks or other devices?

Has anybody managed to get a phone/PDA/internet tablet to work as a simple
sequencer using serial(RS-232), Bluetooth or USB (host port or
USB-on-the-Go), plus appropriate cables/interface boxes?
