Rock is American music.
Europeans can't play rock as well as Americans because they're not
American.
From Louis Jordan and the Carter Family to Muddy Waters and Howlin'
Wolf to Tin Pan Alley, Broadway and Scott Joplin, to Ike Turner, Chuck
Berry and Elvis Presley, rock and roll is American music.
Europeans could never play the blues like J. Geils, Bloomfield,
Garcia, Kaukonen or Allman.
It's in the muddy Mississippi water, the New York streets, and the
dirt of the cotton farms. |
