What is singing, I wonder?  Is it an ability to faithfully reproduce a
series of notes with the human voice or is it the ability to
communicate emotion and ideas via the human voice?

Dylan's singing has touched me to the core of my being.  Doesn't that
qualify him as a good singer?  And if he can touch me like that is his
failure to touch someone else with his singing his lack or theirs?

As for Cohen ... he's just a bad singer.  Good hat, though.

OTOH, a bad singer is the test of a good song.

Listening to Cohen's Hallelujah. His singing is way off the notes but the
song comes through. Eventually.

Dylan sounded very different on Nashville Skyline too.  Perhaps he has
more than one voice.

show 'Spectacle' has been renewed for another season?

Elvis is from a later time and we would expect his voice to sound the
same. If only his songs sounded the same. I thought Elvis said he
wouldn't be around for his artistic decline.

That said, I eagerly await Elvis's next album, produced by T-Bone and
with bluegrass players. I doubt it will be his Blood on the Tracks but I
keep waiting and hoping.
