Marching to the beat of a different drummer.

Not just a dinosaur with CD players and CD's.

Well...it was kind of a left of centre reply to my post...it had nothing
to do with it and sounded like the ramblings of a senile old man
muttering to himself in the corner.

Used to that sort of treatment from Kevin.

XP or Vista?  I hope it's the former for your sake.

my laptop which I've had for almost a year uses Vista (my desktop is a
Mac) and I have no problems whatsoever. The problems with Vista is
all hype. It's no OS X, but aside from using less memory I don't
see any real advantage in XP over Vista.

Came out on the 15th I believe. I pre-ordered it from Amazon but it
hasn`t turnd up yet. Although being a skinflint I did select the 3-5 day
free delivery option.

I have never had a problem with Vista either. I have 5 computers, one
desktop and four laptops with one being a tablet PC and another being
net book PC. All run windows Vista 64 (except for the net book that
one runs Vista Basic 32) without any of the complaints or glitches
that people have made. I think people are just whiners, complainers
and crybaby's or they don't understand or know what they are doing and
screw their computers up. Bomber this isn't intended towards you, its
just an observation on what I have mostly seen / witnessed.

Out as of last week. Already have posted it's first week sales in
the US. Around 2,800.

The main reason I selected this computer was that it has XP. I'd be
using linex or whatever it's called if I had to chose Vista. Maybe
they'll get it right with the new Win #7 they've been talking about.
Of course, have they really ever gotten it right? How many updates
and fixes have they done for all the previous ones?
Being a skinflint, as the word goes, I selected a machine that will
do what I spend most of my time doing. Online internet, and some older
games. I don't go about buying all the new games that require you to
spend $$$ on new video cards, $$$ on new processors and so on.
Of course, you may have seen my statement that my old computer was
running win-98 and was about 6 years old. And it was still able to run
all the games I play. It was just getting old and crashing a lot. I
guess it's about reached it's end.

Windows 7 is supposed to fix all the complaints people have with Vista. I've
briefly messed around with Windows 7 and don't really see the difference ( I
have it along with Vista on my laptop). I haven't had any problems with
Vista other than compatability issues. If I had to choose I'd take XP since
I'm used to it and it works just fine.

I haven't seen it yet. I did just see the new Satyricon in Walmart of all
places.
