"If you get yourself some silver, then you can have everything. You can have
the best the world offers, and the best it can bring. It can take you to
Hollywood, where the houses are clean. You can be the best actor, the best
the world ever seen.
Verse 2.
It can take you to the high rise, above the city below. It can take you to
the casinos, and the great broadway show. It can take you to the Hamptons,
and you'll live like a king. Yes if you have the silver, you can have
everything.
Chorus 1.
But there's one thing you can't have, with that silver you trust. You cannot
have eternal life, as you lay in the dust. You may have a nice airplane, and
a big diamond ring. But silver can't buy you heaven, no matter how much you
plead.
Verse 3.
You may languish in the ghetto, you may live without a home. You may wear
tattered clothing, and not have a single cell phone. Or you may have silver,
and in your eyes it does gleam. But you cannot buy heaven, no matter how
much you plead.
Chorus 2.
You may plead with the Master, Please let me enter in. You may cry with all
your might, and say you're sorry for your sins. You may try every argument,
and with him will you plead. But in the end, you'll finally know, that
silver did deceive.

You may hike across Denver, in snow that's so white. You may swim in a
lagoon, with the fishes so bright. You may drive the hottest car, the
sweetest the world's ever seen. But into the LORD's heaven, your silver will
not you bring.
