ZAPPA/VARÈSE/NYU!
From June 8-14, 2008, Tom Trapp will conduct and lead the musical
portions of a Frank Zappa Orchestral Laboratory at NYU's Steinhardt
School of Music. This lab will feature intensive study of the
orchestral music of Zappa and the influence of Edgard Varèse. The week
will culminate in 2 performances, including never-before performed
music, exciting music, and cool music.
The non-playing portions of the program include panel discussions/Q&A
with Gail Zappa herself, and Jon Haas, director of percussion at NYU
(and Zappa alum).
At this moment, there are a few needed instruments needed to complete
the program,
so if you're interested in applying - NYU Program - more info HERE.
