Hi learned group.
Due to fact that all the sound shops that handle Octava mics are trying to
rip us off here in Sydney or Melbourne, (Sorry John Rowley, not you), I need
to find out where I can get hold of a decent sounding Octava MC 012, so that
I can ship it back to Sydney.
Of course, I need one with the Hyper head
Any ideas?
Cheers

I have had really good dealing with The Sound Room (I hope that isn't one of
the sound shops you refer to) and I believe they ship worldwide.

Hope this helps.

Hi Martin
Thankyou for your bracketed note, I appreciate it. You're right in a
couple of ways, I won't sell somebody something I would'nt be happy to use
myself. But why would you want to invest in hardware that either might be
inferior in quality, or might have a limited lifespan? Cost doesn't always
equate to quality, especially these days. Just look at Sound Devices. It's
cost-effective and beautiful workmanship and design. Numerous other
examples in mic construction. Incidentally, I can't help you with Oktava.
Regards.

Sound room is a very good source in the US. I would also recommend you
get a very good shock mount. The Octavas are very suseptable to
handling noise. That is assuming you will use the 012 on a boom. |
