The Last Silent Film Night of the Year! Saturday, March 29, 2008 at 7 pm!
Now's your chance to see what all the buzz is about. It's an unforgettable
night of laughter and fellowship for the whole family. If you need a good
laugh then come see one of the silver screen's funniest comedic actors at
his very best.
One of Leonard Maltin's 100 must-see films of the 20th century and the
American Film Institute's 18th greatest film of all time, Buster Keaton's
"The General" (75 min, 1926) is an historical epic of hysterical
proportions! Set during the American Civil War, our protagonist Johnnie Gray
(Keaton) is a train engineer who finds himself rejected as unfit for
military service. But when his train is comandeered by the enemy and his
girl taken hostage, he sets out to save his two loves and ends up on a wild,
not to mention hilarious, adventure! With live music by internationally
renowned accompanist Bill O'Meara, Buster Keaton's comic masterpiece will
come to life for one evening only!
Admission is free but donations are welcome. All donations go to FaithWorks.
