We are compiling a dictionary of audiovisual industry terms (called
Hollywords) that includes visual effects terminology and are looking
for experienced individuals interested in contributing to the
dictionary project (fact checking existing entries, submitting new
entries, acting as subject-matter editors, etc.).

The goal of the Hollywords dictionary is to provide a single,
authoritative resource for industry professionals and enthusiasts who
encounter terms from outside their normal area of expertise. For
example, we do not try to define visual effects terms for use by
engineers or artists with 20 years of experience. Instead, we define
visual effects terms for directors, producers, accountants, marketing
executives, etc. -- anyone who might need to work with a visual
effects professional. At the same time, we define directing,
producing, accounting, and marketing terms for use by visual effects
professionals. Our humble goal is to foster free, open, and accurate
communication across the various specializations that make up the
audiovisual industry as a whole. (More information about the
Hollywords project can be found at www.hollyword.org, or you can write
us at info@hollyword.org.)

If you're passionate about visual effects and want to share your
expertise with others, then we would love to hear from you. In
addition to providing a positive contribution to the audiovisual
industry, contributors will also be acknowledged in the print
publication and will earn a share of the publishing royalties.

Thank you for your time. We hope to hear from you soon.
