There are groups designed for testing - but it isn't that hard to come
up with a real post in a newsgroup you are interested enough to test
with. |

I knew at least someone would jump on me for that -- but I can take it.
And yes,I do have a real on-topic post but my news server refuses to post
it. I'm pretty sure I can post to a test group and I know I have been able
to post to this group in the past. I wanted to see if the problem was
specific to a particular newsgroup, message, or point in time. Apparently,
it is just that particular post to the one particular group that fails --
many times in a row. I needed to check a couple of different groups,
including the one I am having trouble with and another I know worked in
the past.
Enough off-topic. |

NEVER post to a test group unless you have your address kluged. I made
that mistake, and the spam started pouring in almost instantly!!

I've had that happen with work e-mails and on-line posts. Sometimes
a word or phrase triggers a spam filter. Tracing it down either
requires someone who knows the filter, or selective editing until you
find out what the trigger word was. |
