I'm paying big bucks to have some old films converted frame by frame, and
have noticed that film to digital conversion seems to be a recurring problem
within the 8mm/Super8 community. You would think that someone like Nikon or
Canon might seize on this?
A compact, *one piece* firewire unit would be nice. Wouldn't need to be
fast - you could just run it from an obsolete Thinkpad.
That workprinter setup might be an option for those already owning high
quality video gear....but it lacks the "ease of use" I've come to expect
from my Nikon 4000ED, and I'm not upgrading my old VHS camcorder until
Foveon units become available.
Comments, speculations welcomed !
