EVIL SABBATH
Also Known As
THE SABBATH
THE WITCHES SABBATH
LA VISIONE DEL SABBA
Directed by Marco Bellocchio in 1988
Starring Beatrice Dalle, Daniel Ezralow and Corinne Touzet
Here's something a little different. This is a very moody and slowly
paced French/Italian erotic horror movie in which the emphasis is very
much on the erotic rather than the horrific. A young, married
psychologist is introduced to an alluring woman who claims to be a
400-year-old witch. Also, she tells stories of the time Napoleon was
at her house and discusses openly her ability to fly. The woman is
being evaluated mentally because she shot a man in the forest claiming
that he "insulted her as a woman" by slapping captain one-eye around
in front of her. The doctor is instantly obsessed with his patient to
the extent of alienating his beautiful and concerned wife. There are
also numerous visions (that the doctor is a big part of) concerning
the inquisition. A well made though surprisingly strange thriller that
contains a lot of nudity and adult situations. Evil Sabbath is a very
rarely seen movie and you can now enjoy it uncut and slightly
widescreen! It's presented in English language with Japanese
subtitles.

COMMANDER
Also Known As
THE LAST AMERICAN SOLDIER
Directed by Ignazio Dolce in 1988
Starring Craig Alan, Max Laurel and Larry Brand
Roger Craig is known in the jungles only as Commander. The war never
ended for him and home didn't exist anymore. Craig stayed behind to
help fight for those who needed it. Now he has a wife and a child on
the way. When the American government asks Craig to infiltrate a
Russian ship and steal the cargo he agrees on the condition that he
can return to the states with his new family. Neither of them wants to
see the child born among so much pain and death. A deal is struck and
the mission goes off without a hitch. Troubles soon come because the
Russian soldier in charge is a complete psycho (with a troubling
fondness for torture and murder) who wants back what was taken from
him. The village where Craig lives is discovered and destroyed. His
friends are slaughtered and his wife is taken away… Nothing will stand
in his way as Commander fights for reasons more personal than ever
before! Tremendous amounts of bloodshed and violence punctuate huge
action/battle scenes that help to elevate Commander high above the
norm. Not to mention that excellent soundtrack composed by Simon
Boswell! Fans of the eighties/jungle/soldier/action genre (Strike
Commando 2 – Double Target – Striker – et al) will absolutely not want
to miss this! It's very possibly the best of its kind! Some prints
have had several minutes cut out of them. This is totally uncut and
presented in the widescreen format! English Language with Japanese
subtitles.
