could play the 30 to 47 year old Judy Garland, Liz is
a singer and actor (one woman and multi-person stage plays,
some TV, some small parts in movies) but maybe if she got
the role would need to work on her dance moves a wee bit,
but anyway she just has the same vibe and ballsy vocals,
e.g. I like the Denial track with MP3 on the main
page (not the MP3s section which has the first two CDs
but the third one is on the main page) of http://www.lizband.com
and the fourth upcoming CD should be melodic rock
with soaring gutsy female vocals. But anyway she just
has the same vibe as Judy as if both were reincarnated
from the same other species or something (speculation).

Liz Pickard's solo (not with Lizband) ballad version of
Picture to Hollyood (written by Ron and Connie Hynes
and also performed by Ron Hynes on his CD Cryer's Paradise
but Liz's version is better and is on the CD
11 : 11 Newfoundland Women Sing Songs of Ron and Connie Hynes
[well the title of the CD is close to that]).

Dear Ya'll,

I need a little help. I had Tatiana and Jordan's contact numbers but
now I can't find them. Would one of you help me find these two. I
want to set up some coaching with them and I would appreciate your
help. Thanks ya'll.

By the way, I HAVE A BONE TO PICK WITH A FEW OF YOU!

Eleanor Powell was a marvelous dancer in her day. So was Jane
Russell, Cyd Charisse, Ginger Rogers, Judy Garland and in my opinion
especially Julliet Prowse whom I had the honor/pleasure of dancing
with on more than a few ocassions years ago. All of these ladies were
class acts and they deserve respect whether you liked them or not! I
am amazed at the level of your disrespect.

Gentlemen, everyone has style preferrances. If you don't like
someone's dance style that does not mean they are a bad dancer. It
simply means that you do not like their style and your opinions are
not the measurement that the rest of us should adhere to. If you are
not fond of one of these ladies dance style, simply say, "I'm
personally not fond of her style." Why can't you clowns that

waving your ignorance like a flag for the whole world to muse at? Do
you guys really not realize how foolish you look when you do this on
every subject under the sun even when you clearly know absolutely
nothing about the subject?

In one way or another, all of these women helped create the foundation
for dance that you enjoy today. I for one am thankful for their
contributions! I personally am not overly fond of all of them on the
dance floor, but I certainly appreciate what they helped do for me/us.

It would be interesting to hear what you...gentlemen(?) had to say
about the ability levels of Astaire, Kelly, Murray, O'Connor, Buttons,
Ebsen, Cagney and the rest of the gang to name only a few.

All of you who are reading this, the above is only my opinion and it's
one opinion only. It certainly isn't the voice of authority or voice
of the people like these jokers stupidly try and present themselves to

OK everyone...now the fun begins! Just sit back and watch as these

domination of this site. I love America and Democracy! However in
some cases we have to take the good with the bad which includes not

Unfortunately this is one of those instances. I suppose we could feel
sad for these unfortunate men that for years now have stayed glued to
their only real link to the outside world through this web site and
they spend hours and hours doing this daily!

I have an idea....let's ignore them!

Thank you all for putting up with my speech, but these guys bore me
which is why I only come here maybe once a month.

Lead Dawg,

You are wasting your time trying to get through to those
thick-skull idiots who have nothing better to do with their time. As
you suggested, we should just ignore this group of raunchy slimeballs
until they go away.
Bob Wheatley is one of those slimeballs who cannot deal with
facts. Whenever these jerks are confronted with documented facts that
go against their deep-rooted beliefs, they try to discredit them
without providing evidence that supports their position. Eventually,
when they realize they cannot dispute the facts, they become angry and
try to have the final say by resorting to the use of foul street
language. Newsgroups should not have to tolerate this foul-mouth scum
that is polluting the Internet.
I am happy to know that you appreciate the posted Eleanor Powell
articles as much as I do. I thank all of you who have posted these
very interesting asticles. They are a rich source of information on
Ellie's career and personality. It would be nice if we could hear
from other Ellie fans (out there) who can provide us with additional
information on her remarkable life. But it would be even nicer if we
could hear from people who either knew Ellie personally or saw her
dance live.
Thank you for speaking out on behalf of all the fans of Eleanor
Powell and other talented performers.

You mentioned Bob Wheatley specifically, foul-mouthed scum, and very
general accusations without any specifics. Without any specifics, your

you are complaining about? Also, there are 5 newsgroups that are being

usually participate in?

HEY DUDE WHERE'S MY BUDDY!!!???
COME BACK HOME MICHAEL!!!

Ok Michael, you've had your realpolitik fling with ex-General Wesley
Clark. Your endorsed Presidential candidate in the Democratic Primaries
has withdrawn. It is time for you to come home, to join your buddies and
resume your only genuine role which is that of defiance and resistance.
Compliance and assistance with the Democrats does not accord with your
past, your character, your bold writings and, most memorably, your long
corrosive assaults on the Party that betrayed the working classes and
plunged our country into corporate globalization. Remember, Michael,
you're the flinty man from Flint, Michigan. You've never forgotten your
roots. The heady Hollywood, Manhattan scene with the celebrities and
Academy Awards have never gotten to your head but rather have gotten
into your deserving pockets. How we all recall your standing before one
billion people in Los Angeles at the televised Academy Awards in 2003
and, breaking the customary cant of the awardees, throwing the gauntlet
down to George W. Bush and his "fictitious" war mongering.

Now the War has become a quagmire, with both Republicans and Democrats
complicit (check the votes in Congress). The Draft may be on the way. So
what are you doing going on the Al Franken Show very nearly breaking
down when Al Gore (he of the pro NAFTA/GATT, anti-worker, regime-change,
Iraq-bombing, lethal sanctions on half a million children
Administration) called and thought you were apologizing. You have
nothing to apologize for, Michael. Gore has a lot to apologize
for-blowing the election he won in Florida and the country as a whole
and for blowing, with Bill Clinton, the many opportunities the
rich-booming Nineties and the collapse of the Soviet Union gave this
country to turn a peace dividend into a pro-worker, pro-environment,
pro-consumer and anti-poverty resurgence.

Come back and join our Presidential campaign, Michael. Talk to those
"Reagan Democrats"-those 35% of union members who still vote Republican
and against their own interests-as only you can. Michael, if you go
pumping for the Democratic Party this year, just what are you going to
say to the unemployed steelworkers near Sparrows Point in Maryland? To
the megathousands of laid off textile and furniture workers in North and
South Carolina? To the abandoned auto workers waiting and waiting near
their empty factories that went to repressive countries? To the millions
of blue-collar workers, who fought our wars, only to learn that the two
parties won't fight for their company pensions and health insurance? Are
you going to tell them how the Democratic Party pushed through the WTO,
let their pensions erode or disappear, were too busy collecting checks
from the corporate bosses to pay attention to the corporate crime wave
that looted and drained trillions of dollars from millions of workers,
their retirement and small investments? Will you tell them that the
cowardly Democrats, who couldn't win the fewer elections they are now
not losing without the labor vote, won't even mount a determined drive
to repeal the notorious, union-blocking Taft Hartley Act?

How can you be free to be what you are, or to depress Bush's vote, to
jolt into consciousness the moribund Democratic Party?

Hey Dude, join your real buddies! The ones you may be thinking about
just don't fit either your message, your vision, or our website
VoteNader.org.

Come back home Michael. The workers and the youth of America are looking
for you.

Best regards,
Ralph Nader

P.S. Will you put this invitation on your website and see how your fans
react to Michael Moore returning to the Nader 2004 presidential
campaign? Patti Smith will reserve a big singing spot, for you, on
the
stage for the customary finale, PEOPLE HAVE THE POWER.

Help us Get Congress to Take Action

You can help the call for an impeachment inquiry of President Bush and
Vice President Dick Cheney. Sign our online Petition.

http://www.votenader.org/get_involved/impeach.php

George W. Bush and Dick Cheney should be impeached for two reasons:

They led the United States into an illegal, unconstitutional war in
Iraq.
They misled the Congress and the American people with five falsehoods
that led to war.

All it takes is one Member of the House of Representatives to call for
an Impeachment Inquiry to start the process to investigate the two
grounds. If the House then votes by a simple majority for Articles of
Impeachment, the Senate would then undertake a trial of the President
and Vice President. They would only be convicted, and impeached, if
two-thirds of the Senate agrees.

Nobody dances like Eleanor Powell! I have seen performances by all
the great dancers, from Bill Robinson to the dancers of today, and
none of them come close to Eleanor Powell's incredible dancing skill,
grace, and showmanship. Her dancing abilities were so extraordinary,
that she could have taught Fred Astaire a few dance moves. I think
Eleanor's juke box dance number (with Fred Astaire) in "Broadway
Melody of 1940" confirms her greatness as a dancer. If people
carefully study this entire dance number, they will clearly see
several segments where Fred Astaire is exercising more effort than
Eleanor Powell. Throughout the entire number, Ellie's performance is
fluid and effortless, whereas Fred's is less fluid and more
mechanical. This does not demean Fred Astaire's greatness as a
dancer: he is still one of the greatest dancers who ever lived. At
the height of her career, Eleanor Powell was often called "the female
Fred Astaire." Since Fred Astaire was such a great dancer, this is a
comment on Eleanor Powell's greatness as a dancer.

Here is some information on Eleanor Powell most people may not know:
In 1965, the Dance Masters of America bestowed the title of "World's
Greatest Tap Dancer" on Eleanor Powell. To my knowledge, she still
holds that title. Eleanor Powell received one of her greatest
accolades from Fred Astaire after their appearances together in
Broadway Melody of 1940: "...Fred Astaire...considered [Eleanor
Powell] a better dancer than himself..." (See Lloyd and Fuller, The
Illustrated Who's Who of the Cinema, 1987, p.353.) Eleanor Powell's
mastery of every dance form, combined with her sparkling personality,
both on and off the silver screen, made her a truly unique world-class
dancer.

Whichever: I demand my rightful place at the top of the list.
