Thats great, thanks for the post!
As expected, the SD 702 is incomparable to the rest. Very Clean
sounding. Like I said, no surprise there.
Thanks,

Great Test! Do you think Timecode (TOD) is a constant enough sound
(like beachteks 20khz tone,) to run to 5d/7d's Left channel to keep it
from AutoGaining and put Scratch track on Right Channel? |

It may be just me, but I see real sync differences in the web videos.
The first segment (on cam mic) was fine, but the pieces done w/ the
Senn. mic and the PSU seemed very noticeably out of sync here. The
Juiced Link was ok sync wise, the Azden off again, and then ok after.
Strange. All of the cam audio was noisy enough that I could easily
hear the self-noise in the BG on laptop speakers. The JuicedLink
(again) sounded thin and brittle, the BeachTek doesn't seem like it
has much headroom, and something very weird started happening with
transients after the AGC control mojo was turned on. Will the
webvidsters care? Not at all. Sound wise the 7D seems identical to
the 5D.

What you hear in the background is not self noise, it's ambience. Self
noise is what the record circuts generate when shorted out.

When the tester cranks the volume down on the interfaces the ambiance
goes down with it.
I still hear considerable hiss--not ambiance but self-noise.
