Monsters vs. Aliens (2009)
" After Susan Murphy (voiced by Reese Witherspoon) is struck by a
meteor and grows to be 50-feet tall, she's captured by the government
and shuttled to a secret compound where she meets a team of other
monsters -- soon to be Earth's only defense when an alien attacks.
Under orders from the president (Stephen Colbert), Susan and her
cohorts Dr. Cockroach (Hugh Laurie), the Missing Link (Will Arnett)
and B.O.B. (Seth Rogen) set out to save the world. "-Netflix
What a blast! I thought that this was a kids film, it's not. The
animation is really sharp, the character designs are fresh and
inventive, and the voice work excellent. I loved all the references
to '50s monster films. Wish I'd seen it in 3D. |

For the full experience, see it in Imax 3D in one of the so-equipped
theatres near San Francisco  Very good stuff. Wish the screens were
larger tho, a common complaint I gather!
