....but I need to call upon the expertise of thr group. Continuing my
research on Colleen Moore but turning up the heat a little. I find I
need a good source of information on Universal Bluebird Photoplays
from the 1917 -1918 period... both films and on the organization as a
whole. I've been unable to find archival materials or any books that
look fit the bill, but I'm sure that's a rsult of my searching. I'm
sure they're out there, but I've just missed them. I'd appreciate any
suggestions. Also, I hope to make a Colleen Moore announcement in the
very near future, so stay tuned!

Jeff, you certainly couldn't have spent much time searching Google. I
went to Google, entered "history of Bluebird Photoplays" and received
over 1,500 hits including a timeline that had links to a number of
articles. You can find a published list of films released under the
Bluebird Photoplay imprint (which, as you know, was connected to
Universal even though Bluebird was an independent corporation) in both
"American Film Personnel and Company Credits, 1908-1920" by Paul C.
Spehr, and the Index volume for "The American Film Institute Catalog:
Feature Films, 1911-1920" (in the section 'Corporate Name Index').
The fall, 2004, issue of "The Moving Image" (Vol. 4, No. 2, pp. 64-85)
contains an article by Jeannette Delamoir entitled "Louise Lovely,
Bluebird Photoplays, and the Star System". Even a quick Google search
will find many more references to Bluebird Photoplays.
