An online pal, artist Amy Crehore, just uncovered some memorabilia in an
old box about a great, great uncle named Stanley Forde, a Broadway
performer who appeared in at least one silent film:

At that link you'll find another to a set of Flickr images of Forde and
stills from the film, "The Great White Way", which Amy found in the box.
Anyone know anything else about this performer or the film? For
instance, does it survive?
