Back in 1899 the Amercan Mutoscope And Biograph Company filmed the
"Jeffries-Sharkey" fight
at Coney Island in a process very similar to our present IMAX system.
The film was 70MM wide and
each frame was 2 1/4 inches high. Three hundred and twenty feet(320ft)
of film was used a minute, similar
to IMAX which uses 337.5 feet per minute.
