Petrol use a soft orange material in their bags and Kata a yellow.
Both stick to velcro. My question is; what exactly is this material
called and where can it be purchased? I ask because I want to modify
my Petrol bag.
Thanks guys. |

Interesting. I was looking for the same material to make partitions in
a case. Instead I wound up buying "headliner fabric" from a local
fabric (sewing) store. I'm going to order from this source and see if
velcro sticks to it any better.

It probably would, because Velcro consists of two fabrics: "hook", and
"loop". The headliner fabric is probably an "open weave", which means it
does not have loops for the hooks to catch.

"nap" of the headliner fabric I found is very simiar to that of the
clothe used in photography bags like Tamrac and Lowe Pro. I'm sure the
Veltex is more robust to hold up longer.

Thanks to all that replied. After much begging Kata finally gave in
and revealed the name of the fabric. Brushed Nylon. |
