Among some orthodox sects, dating and marriage proposals are a matter
of community enterprise. And therein, as ARRANGED shows us, some
conflict with modern U.S. life can arise. (Go figure.) With almost
no patience myself for such traditions, I was hoping for some harder
edges from this movie ...but the best I can call it is an afterschool-
special for grownups. Although the Manhattan indie is earnest and
nicely acted, and gets quite high marks from both IMDb- and Netflix-
users... it's not my cup of matzoh ball soup. Marginally recommended.
