If the title, or the opening moments caused you to skip this silent
film, it's your loss.
The film was simply amazing to watch from beginning to end.
Cinematography was amazing, especially the chase scenes filmed in
1922.

I guess I was one of those people. I watched the first 15 minutes but
I found the score to be clawing. |

Was this the film that was restored by a teenager on his computer?
That's the one, but I think there's a lot more to the story.
He got help from two major film restoration experts and someone else
had to compose and produce the new musical score.
What I saw that was amazing was in the camera work (the tracking
shots along the coastal road). Watching the lead horses turn shows
how close they were to the camera.
The big question? How'd they get such action shots on a rough dirt
road in 1922?

I finally saw this one. It was really a beautiful film, excellent
cinematography throughout. I'm always interested in seeing the work of
Maurice Tourneur.
