We are pleased to announce that Christina Cook, a junior in Political
Science at Washburn University, was recently chosen the winner of the
first Buster Keaton Celebration Student Presentation Competition.
Christina attributes her interest in silent film to a University of
Kansas class entitled “Introduction to Film Medium.” Her favorite
Buster Keaton film is Steamboat Bill, Jr. She is married and lives in
Topeka, Kansas.
Please mark your calendar for the Celebration this year, to be held
September 26 & 27, 2008 in Iola, KS. Next year, we plan to open the
competition to Masters degree candidates as well. Thanks to all who
entered. |
