Anyone know if the famed sketch seen in the 2nd part was done by Rudyard
Kipling?
The framed sketch that appears briefly in the last part of "La Roue"
sent me on a quest to discover who drew it. Here's the image in
question: http://community.webtv.net/BigMovieFan/LaRoue/
My best guess is that it was done by Rudyard Kipling, whose work is
quoted several times i the story. He certainly had the talent to make
it.
It turns out that Kipling was the son of an art teacher and the nephew
of two of the greatest late Victorian painters -- Sir Edward Burne-Jones
and Sir Edward Poynter.
Like W. M. Thackeray, Rudyard Kipling created illustrations for much
of his written work.
I've found other sketches by this famous author, but so far I have not
been able to see this particular image except in the film.
