The original "Dinner At Eight" is one of my favorite films of all
time.
Not a bad performance in the jam-packed all-star cast!
Even hammy John Barrymore was perfectly cast as a washed up --- ham!
His death scene was pricless.
Definitely in my list of the top 10 movies of the 1930s
Some places this is noted as a comedy, which it is not, dramedy maybe.
"Oliver! Duckie!" |

Kitty: I was reading a book the other day.
Carlotta: Reading a book?
Kitty: Yes. It's all about civilization or something. A nutty kind of a
book. Do you know that the guy says that machinery is going to take the
place of every profession?
Carlotta: Oh, my dear, that's something you need never worry about.
