Hi All -
I just wanted to chime in to let you all know that my family and I
have arrived safely and are now most comfortably settled in our new
home in Rumford, Rhode Island. Leaving Los Angeles was a challenge for
Scott and me, both personally and professionally, but Scott loves his
new job at Brown University, and we are 100% certain that Rumford will
be a far preferable venue to raise our darling son Matt, who is almost
4 1/2 now - it is amazing true how, when you become a parent, your
sensibilities totally veer in the direction of your little one - even
when it means leaving dear friends and a beloved city behind. I will,
however, be back in LA in August, as my darling stepdaughter Jessica
(and husband Anthony) are expecting (gulp!) our first grandchild, a
girl, and wild horses couldn't keep me away from that big event! I
hope to see my dear friends then, and in subsequent visits.
At this time, I would like to also express my sadness at the recent
passing of my friend Robert Nudelman, the Director of Preservation
Issues for Hollywood Heritage. He was a dear colleague, a respected
professional, and a sharp-witted curmudgeon before his time - I
enjoyed him greatly, and will miss him immensely.
