The below was posted here 11 years ago.

Apparently the Edgar Burrows estate has the negitives to SON OF TARZAN
(1920) serial and was going to release it.

Anyone know what happened with this project?

I just learned from Lou (CAPTAIN CELLULOID VS. THE FILM PIRATES) McMahon
that the Edgar Rice Burroughs estate has just unearthed the original
nitrate negative to the 1920 serial SON OF TARZAN and will offer "legit"
videotape copies to collectors. Apparently, ERB's grandson Danton saw ads
in THE BIG REEL and CLASSIC IMAGES from Video Specialists, a PA-based
outfit offering the title. He remembered that the family owned the
negative and tracked it down. Supposedly it's already en route to John E.
Allen for mastering. Lou, an expert on silent-era musical accompaniment,
was contacted to provide a score for the tape; Burroughs also has the
original 1920 cue sheets, and Lou will duplicate original cues with
recordings from his collection wherever possible. No word on what shape
the nitrate elements are in, but let's keep our fingers crossed.
Lou also heard from the Burroughs people that a print of the long-lost
1927 TARZAN AND THE GOLDEN LION has been located overseas and will be
