Been watching old tapes from that wonderful, PBS multi ep
masterpiece, calmly narrated by James Mason. Ah, the visuals here.
Each ep begins with marvelous waltz like music, and Gilbert and Garbo
swirling. Then very brief clips of Chaplin ; Bow, etc. They had faces!
Watched eps on Westerns; comedy; stuntmen; scandals and falls from
grace, and <hiss!> the coming of talk talk talk.
What fools those movie mortals be!
And still NO dvds  |
