SmackDabMedia is proud to announce the release of
DVD: BEAT THE BLUE / ZERO
containing the award-winning short "Beat the Blue"
and the premiere release of the film "Zero".
Awarded the Global Vision Award at the 2002 World Population
Film & Video Festival, "Beat the Blue" follows freelance data
compressor Frank Sivart (Jesse Weinstein) as he works towards
his ultimate goal of eternal life online when a system-wide
crash threatens to change everything. Official Selection at
Ashland Independent Film Fest, Big Bear Lake Int'l Film Fest,
Ocularis Open Zone, Independents Film Fest and honored as part
of Anthology Film Archives' NewFilmmakers Series in NYC.
Receiving its premiere release in this DVD compilation, the
improvisational drama "Zero" explores an interrupted weekend
in Connecticut using some of the finest young actors coming
out of the Actor's Studio in NYC, including Krista Worth,
Robert Lincourt & Jessa LaForce. The product is a dark and
moody ensemble piece that relies on the moment to unspool
its digital narrative.
Both shorts were directed by John Fucile, co-written by Fucile
and Simon Fraser, shot by Justin Michel and contain original
music by New Zealand DJ Sola Rosa and Brooklyn MC Baby Tragic.
