Saw James Bond (Sean Connery) elbow dapper, black-suited Vegas gangster
Marc Lawrence in Diamonds are Forever after Lana Wood said,
"Hi, I'm..." ? :-D

Jock Mahoney in Once Before I Die (1966) with Ursula Andress (phwoar!)
- as Ron Ely walked into a WWII Philippines bar a soldier said to Jock,
"Hey Colonel! - that guy's even taller than you!".
An iconic moment, if you follow!

John Wayne and Harry Carey were in Angel and the Badman (1946).
JOHN WAYNE'S PAL: Don't like shootin' people - shot a fella once and
thought about it *all* the next day - then, of course, there's always
witnesses and ya gotta shoot *them* too!
JOHN WAYNE: Stop jabberin'!

George Reeves and Harry Lauter (fleetingly!) appeared in the excellent
Bugles in the Afternoon (1952) from Warner Bros. along with Reginald
Truscott-Jones - Reg went from the Royal Household Cavalry to Custer's
7th Cavalry!
Errol Flynn was in a tinted long shot from Warner's They Died with
their Boots On, but he was miles away!

Lon Chaney and Robert Lowery were uncredited in Charlie Chan on
Broadway - Marc Lawrence was good in a villainous role. |

Reed Hadley was in the glossy colour rather good Leave Her to Heaven
(1946) with Gene Tierney, Cornel Wilde and Vincent Price - he was in
another Price film - I wonder if they were pals?

Guinn 'Big Boy' Williams is in Hand Across the Border with Roy Rogers
- Guinn calles himself a 'grizzly bear', Roy told him he was more like
a 'teddy bear'! :-D
Part of a neat budger DVD with FIVE Roy Rogers Westerns!

Lon Chaney was in Buckskin(1968) which I saw around that year with
Where's Jack? (1969) with Tommy Steele - thought Buckskin was
uninteresting then, but found it much more interesting on Five
yesterday - same Western street as Bonanza with a dodgy looking
mountain in the background!

Spotted George J. Lewis as a crooked bartender in THE SCARFACE MOB
(1959), which served as the pilot episode of the classic TV series THE

George J. Lewis was possibly in Al Jennings of Oklahoma with Dan
Duryea - Guinn 'Big Boy' Williams had a very good part!

Okay, this is perhaps the unlikeliest "What serial stars have you
spotted?" post of ALL time!
Watched CAPTAINS OF THE CLOUDS (1942) last night, and yeah, it's easy
to spot Frank Lackteen in it. But there's a scene in which Jimmy
Cagney, Alan Hale, and the boys are listening to "Winston Churchill"
on the radio... It's clearly not Churchill, but who is it? Well,
having just spent 12 weeks watching DAREDEVILS OF THE RED CIRCLE
(finished Friday night), I thought it sure sounded likes Miles Mander.
And so it was! |
