I haven't tried 9v NiMH batteries, but I've used their NiMH AA's and fast
charger and I'm very happy with their equipment.

The problem with PP3's in the past was the lack of multiple bank
chargers, and the 8.4 volt batts, If this one works well and the 9.6
Volts is real it could be a winner, will post results when the unit
and first 10 Batts arrive for a test run.
Just need to stop people throwing them in the bin now when there unit
is flat !!!

On the subject of rechargeable. Should we still charge a USE fee on them as
expendables? I personally don't buy the 1000 recharge advertisement as I'm
betting that by 500 recharges they are going to be less useful as to the
amount of run time they will provide in our mission critical rf work where
we can't yell cut because a battery went down.

There have been 9V NiMH batteries available for years. However, they
have a low capacity rating of only 160-170ma. and only sequential
chargers - until now.

I found another manufacturer who has developed a 250ma 9.6V battery and
a 2400ma AA battery. This manufacturer also has an entire line of
multicell chargers in desktop and rack mount versions with up to 16 AA
cells in a desktop charger. Their 9V chargers are limited to 4 cells,
but I see no reason the Powerex charger will not work.

The Powerex cells and chargers I have used and sold have been very
reliable and I will continue to carry them. These higher capacity cells
are very attractive and I will be getting some in for testing.

BTW, I have a sale on a few remaining Powerex 2000ma cell packs and
charger combos on the ATSComms.com web site.

I would think that production would be happy to pay a $1.00-1.50 use fee as
opposed to $2.00-3.00 a battery. It will save them money and give us a
higher profit margin.

Oleg has passed this link to the 260mAh Batteries, these do seem like
a better bet, any one want to buy 10 Powerex PP3's !!!!!!.

On the subject of charging production Brad's plan seems fair, what
kind of mark up if any do people currently charge? for alkalines.

I've only been marking up my batteries by about 25%. I'm not looking for a
profit...I just don't want to lose money on them. I buy Eveready Industrial
9 volts for .95 cents each at Westlake Electronics. Haven't found a better
price anywhere and they are local for me.

Yow! 95 cents! And here I was happy to get ProCells for $1.13. How do

the Energizers stack up against Pro-Cells run-time wise?

The Energizers have performed very well. Since I can't remember the last
time I had a battery fail on me, all I can say is that they always last the
4 -5 hours I push them in my 200 series Lectrosonics transmitters. I'm not
one for trying to save on battery use....I usually always start with a fresh
battery in the morning regardless of weather or not I remember I only used
the one still in the transmitter for 2 hours the day before.

While we're on the subject, does anyone make a ComTek-ish setup that uses a AA battery instead of a 9V? There's more energy in a single 2200 mAH AA than there is in even those 260 mAH 9.4V jobs (assuming they used similar test methodologies.)
