Hello all
We will have a production recorded on Deva II and edited on Final Cut
Pro 4 running on Mac OS X (I'm not sure which version). We made tests
transfering audio files between these two. For some reason Final Cut
didn't read SD2 files ("General Error") or 4-track BWF files (did not
understand the file at all). Mono BWF files were ok, but we had to use
a software called Sebsky Tools to convert them to Quick Time files to
get the time code stamp right.
http://www.dharmafilm.com/sebskytools/
Does anyone have an idea, how we could skip this process? It wastes
time, because you have to click mouse once for each file being
converted. If there is a way to get the 4-track BWF files
batch-converted straight into some 4-track format that Final Cut Pro
can read (including the time stamps), we would have it much easier.
Thanks for any suggestions

I have had no experience with poly files so I can't say, but with bwf mono
files using Sebsky Tools software, I just "shift-clicked" to highlight all
the files and gave them a destination folder and all were converted without
any attention. And, as you know, Sebsky Tools does produce a very nice Final
Cut Pro friendly file with TC intact (and a log fiile, text, if you want
it).

Yes, the files produced by Sebsky Tools were good. Maybe we weren't as
agile with the software, because we still had to click "ok" for each
file.
OSX did something odd to SD2 files - they were split in two.
Still researching.

Copy Restore (http://www.spherico.com/filmtools/) will correct the split SD2 file issue with OSX.
And OSX is happy with bwf-p's up to two tracks. Any more and you need to
convert or use bwf-m.
