"Seven Days In May"
Starring Burt Lancaster, Kirk Douglas, Frederich March, Marin Balsam
Saturday, October 23 at 4 PM John Frankenheimer depicts the
possibility that the Constitution of the United States might be
overthrown by a military coup with chilling, documentary-like realism.
Burt Lancaster gives a steely performance as a self-righteous
American general who dislikes his President's plan to sign a weapons
reduction treaty with the Soviet Union, and so plots to oust him in a
coup d'etat. Kirk Douglas gives a fine, understated performance as an
aid and friend to Lancaster's general, who, though he too disagrees
with the President, nevertheless believes his ultimate duty is to the
Constitution he is sworn to uphold.

Starring Frank Sinatra, Angela Landsbury, Laurence Harvey, Henry Silva
Saturday, October 23 at 7:30 PM John Frankenheimer's story of a
manipulative Communist mole married to a Red-baiting U.S. Senator and
a plot to use a hypnotized Korean War veteran to assassinate a
Presidential candidate set the mold for political paranoia films.
Frank Sinatra and Anglea Landsbury give what many critics consider to
be the finest performances of their careers. And the black and white
Panavision cinematography makes the film all the more riveting to
watch.
Admission for each screening is $6 for adults, $4 for seniors and
children 12 years old and younger.
The Landmark Loew's Jersey Theatre presents its classic films on a 50
foot wide screen using carbon arc illumination for the brightest,
whitest light.
The Loew's Jersey Theatre, located at 54 Journal Square, Jersey City,
is easily reached by car or mass transit from throughout the
Metropolitan Area.
