two armies, each with a top warrior. armies charge at one another,
and though the top warrior on either side is surrounded by 100s or
1000s of the enemies trying to kill him, he doesn't even suffer a
scratch until... he finally meets the other warrior who has also
remained impervious to all swords, spears, and arrows thus far. only
then one of them falls to the other's sword.
this really must go. seven samurai is one of the few movies that
avoided this silliness altogether.

I like it when everyone is covered in armor or helmets--except the lead
warriors / soldiers who conveniently have their helmets knocked off
(provided they were wearing any in the first place).

I like how these thousands of fighting men seem to instantly know that
their leaders are fighting and know exactly when to stop the battle.
This was especially admirable in Troy, where 50,000 men stretched all
along the beach knew exactly when Hector said, "That's enough for
today."

Those old armies must have either been psychic or have extraordinary
hearing!

it failed even as comedy. it was just a farce.
