Never saw the film, but you can check imdb.com
Talk about 6 degrees of separation ... Marie Gillain has appeared
in a couple of Tavernier films, and I just saw her in the Turkish
director what's-his-name's _Harem Suare_. With Alex Descas playing
an Egyptian eunuch; the film is really about their relationship.
Not a bad film at all, very well-told and has an unusual narrative
structure. |

The film isn't even available in the U.S., as far as I know.

She is quite good in _Harem Suare_. Older and wiser.
Better than the other French
flavor-of-the-day ingenues, like the girl in _Swimming Pool_ or
Audrey Tautou. OK, the latter is a decent actress, just overexposed.
I always hear that French actresses get better role than U.S. ones
as they grow older. I don't believe it. So many of them get pushed
off stage before they have a chance to mature. How many are willing
to swear that Isabelle Huppert was a great actress in the 70s? Now
she is practically in a class of her own. Of course things may be
worse here. Mary Louise Parker, who won a Tony (I think) for _Proof_,
lost the film adaptation starring role to someone not worthy as her
supporting actress. For my money
Parker is the best American screen actress under 40 today.
Speaking of former ingenues -- Good to see that Amanda Langlet
(_Pauline at the Beach_, _A Summer's Tale_) seems to be working with
Eric Rohmer one more time. |

This probably won't be any help, but the following cast list includes
a "Farmyard Swordsman" (the IMDB gives the phrase in French):
http://movies.go.com/filmography/Credits?movie_id=44131
There must be lots of swordsmen/fencing men in this film, however.
I wish someone would revive de Broca's early, bittersweet _The Five
Day Lover_ (Jean Seberg, Jean-Pierre Cassel and Micheline Presle).
Has it ever been on video? |

Hey !
Yeah Ihave seen this casting list on movies.com and yes there are a
lot of fencing men in this movie,,
But the one Im sort of trying to find who he is, is "apperently hard
to find "
So by the way, do you like costume movies,, Im a big fan of historic
movies, and especially the 18th century ;)
