Low Budget Indy and Christian.

I know god has lots of money. If you put together all those collection
plates in all those churches I know gods going to be showing up on set
in a Bentley. While the crew eats Dominoes.

Then go get an indy sound mixer that doesn't care about eating or
feeding their family.

Better yet! Buy all sound equipment required & do it yourself!!!

Why don't you post what you have to spend so someone can either say
yes or tell you what you should spend!

How "christian" is it to screw another person's family?

You "christians" make me sick.  It's no wonder the jews run the film
business.

"I don't really have a replacement career, it's a very gnawing thing."

WOAH !!! way out of line here ! Don't go there Robert ,this is not a
religious racism group and where we can write comments like that. This
is a group of audio pros .If you want to make a comment about the
original post...do so in reference to what he wrote and not personal
anti-christain opinions.
If that was an attempt on some sort of humour....I will make a joke
to make you laugh....its a joke ok.....
'' Its how the jews run the film business that make me sick and screw
many peoples families ''. Funny hey ?

I'd recommend ignoring this Morein guy because there seems to be
someone posting in his name (or he's pretending to be someone
pretending to be someone posting in his name). Whatever it is, it's
too weird for me. As for the original post, some newby looking for a
credit will do the job, pick up some experience and maybe have an
interesting time and make a dollar or two. No harm done (unless they
want him or her to ride in the trunk of a car).
Best,

Go to Iowa City or Des Moines and chat up professors in the Film/TV
depts. There is likely to be a student there somewhere willing to
intern (FOR CREDIT, at least, if not actual pay) to work on your film.

completely off topic, and not a big fan of religious shoots, something
i recently did a lot..hours of fun, doing carmount stuff in a 4x4 on
dirtroads in the jungle. Good check for the new HD i'd put in the
Cantar, to see if it really could take some serious smacks while
writing data., and indeed, .the advert did not tell BS for a change.
Being in the trunk, on the roof, or even on the spare wheel on the
back is sometimes just they way to go, and depending on the weather, a
lovely thing to do.

We've crossed a line here and i am not sure why. All the guy said was
that he was doing an independent film and that he HAD a budget. He
did not say NO budget or deferred. Yes, it is a christian project..
That could mean he actually has real money. There are lots of well
funded christian projects. Everybody made assumptions and went on
the attack. Yes, he probably does not have the money to hire the more
experienced guys on this NG. However, everybody has to start out
somewhere. We all did. This kind of attack just pisses people off and
squashes honest dialogue.

Rant mode: off

Thank you.

I was thinking much the same.

Of course, it may turn out that this particular project is every bit as
exploitative as everyone presumed. But it wasn't at all clear from the
original inquiry.

THe best suggestion he's gotten from this NG to stretch that

budget was to talk to the universities in IOwa City and Des
Moines. WHile he's at it, don't forget Iowa sTate in Ames.
DOn't recall if they really have any kind of film program,
but iirc DRake and University of Iowa do.

Anyways he should state
what he has budgeted otherwise the worst is assumed.

Ok, first thing this person is not posting a real name or contact
number, so for all we know it might just be a joke. Second, apparently
does have a budget but as this is a indy film money is usually
reserved for other things than hiring a professional Sound Mixer...
BTW is never stated that a Professional is required.
This film is to be shot in a four week period, who is willing to
commit to a low ball job for that long? Not Me.
Third of all; go to http://www.reduser.net/ & ask who in Iowa owns a
RED ONE & is planning to shoot a Christian Film from June 16-July 8
and you'll find out who this person really is...

I started this one, but would like to say I remember his original
posts and he seemed like a good guy. i just can't resist an easy one
like Indy, some budget, and christian.Though the dominoes part could
of been better, god in a Bentley was awesome. Anyways he should state
what he has budgeted otherwise the worst is assumed.
