I'm getting my toga cleaned for the video release. I'll miss my beta
transfer from the Laserdisc that had Japanese subtitles.

JEEZ, Guys. Why would you want even 30 seconds more, much less 30
minutes? "Fall of the Roman Empire" is a beautifully photographed piece
of horribly written, horribly acted, horse dung! It's just dreadful.
You'd have to be a big fan of Wild Bill Elliot westerns to get any
enjoyment out of the film that destroyed the Bronston movie empire. Of
course this is just my personal opinion, which is typically dead on.

Seriously, this is a bad movie. It can be credited as a major
contributor to Hollywood's abandonment of the historical epic.

Different strokes for different folks, Honorable Mr. Hart!

Honorable Leonard Maltin who is usually dead on too say: "***1/2
stars. Intelligent scripting, good direction and fine acting place
this far above the usual empty-headed spectacle. Mason and Guiness
superb, several action sequences are outstanding. A winner all the
way!"

Honorable Mike Sturges (me) say: "Any chance to gaze upon bosum of
honorable Sophia Loren for part of 153 minutes not wasted time!".
