This camera has been badged CineAlta and promoted in the UK by Sony as
shooting 24p. However 24p only appears under the NTSC options, so is
therefore 23.98. Any idea how this could work in a PAL NLE
environment?
I don't forsee a problem somehow bringing the final output into a
digital cinema projector, Avid will happily work in NTSC, as will my
Sony HDV Deck and I suspect a LMD monitor. But what happens if I need
to downconvert to PAL SD (with a 4% speed change) or view on a CRT?
(We're ignoring the lack of 35Mbit XDCAM Avid support for now!) |

For proper editing in 24p you need everything locked to tri-level
syncs, obviously good old 625/50 or 525/60 derived references will be
no good.

You need a very expensive down/cross/standards converter, like the
Axon HXH40/41which I think will go from 1080/720-24p to 576i ? |
