Six years after production on KING OF THE PARK RANGERS finished--the
only 12 chapter serial to be done since the 1950s, btw--I am at long
last working on a new 10 chapter serial called THE DANGERS OF
DEBORAH. In this one, a feisty female reporter named Deborah Dodd
(Leah Getz) is hunting for mystery villain The Terror, out to steal an
invisibility formula and rule the world with legions of invisible
minions! Filming began in April and is over half done now. Expected
filming completion date is in August.
There are now two clips up from the serial at a couple of different
sites. One clip is a preview of the chapter one cliffhanger. The
other is a fun little scene in the editor's office from chapter three.
You can find them at:
http://www.broadcaster.com/profile/cliffhanger_productions
http://www.myspace.com/cliffhangerproductionsinc
http://www.ifilm.com/profile/cliffhangerpro
Chapter One's cliffhanger is also up on Youtube at:

For reasons I'm not sure of, Youtube hasn't posted the chapter three
clip as of this writing. |

Editing on the Dangers of Deborah has begun in full force. I'm hoping
the film will be done in the next few weeks.
If you're in the Philadelphia area, your first chance to get a glimpse
of a chapter will be this upcoming Monday. I am currently planning on
going to the Bryn Mawr Film Institute for Open Movie Monday. It's at
824 Lancaster Ave., Bryn Mawr, PA starting at 9:15 pm with chapter one
of the serial.
So, yes, I did show Chapter One last night at the Open Screen Monday
at BMFI. This was a first for me as I've never seen any of my work up
on the big screen (unless you want to count the two chapters of KOTPR
shown at the hotel the last two SerialFests--and I really didn't watch
those!).
Overall, the reaction was positive. There were probably about 40 or
50 people in the theater and they all seemed to enjoy it. They did
ask for me to come back with Chapter Two, so I guess that's a pretty
good thing. I also think it looked pretty good up on the big screen,
though it could still use a little tweaking. |

Forgot to make the announcement that chapter two was to be shown on
2/4 at BMFI. Again, it was well received.
Chapter Three will be shown 3/3 at BMFI.
