The worst part was the ending. You call that an ending?
Too many long dialog scenes. Why the silly scene with the Mexican
pimp?
Why did they cut out Michael Jai White? Who was his character
supposed to be? Wasn't there going to be more stuff shot in China?
Did you know Pai Mei's voice was Tarantino?
I would agree that KB1-2 should have been released as one film with
Carradine's long speeches cut down.
Budd's scenes were pretty good esp the transcendent Morricone music.
What's with the silly MTV shots of Uma driving? |

Don't know about that but there was a whole sequence cut out of the
first film dealing with Yuri Yubari, the little sister of the
psychopathic schoolgirl Go-Go. She goes after Uma to avenge her sister's
death. |

I thought the ending was nice. Much better than I would have done. I
especially enjoyed the outtake at the end with Uma plucking out the eyeball
of one of the Crazy 88s.

Again, I like Tarantino's writing too much to have cut down much of Bill's
lines. I thought Carradine did an excellent job with them, and I loved
hearing him tell his stories.

This is like Spielberg and his endless shafts of light in every shot. It's
kind of Tarantino's trademark (or at least one of them). I like the way he
used it to nod to Hitchcock.
But hey, this is just my opinion. :)

I read that the additional scene in China was cut to make room for the
Massacre at Two Pines.

I liked it even more on second viewing. Give it another try. I do wish they
would have put the Yuki story in. She was the twin sister of GoGo. So we
would have got to see Chiaki Kuryama again.lol

I'd read that the Yuki Revenge scenes were never shot.

I think it would have been cool to see the scene where Bill is shooting
craps. It made for a pretty good read, at least.

Too many long dialog scenes. Why the silly scene with the Mexican

The scene with the "Mexican pimp" was one of my favorites scenes.
Why? Because it was a dead-end. A red herring.
If there's is one thing I cannot stand, its a film with NO padding, NO
filler. The reason is that if EVERY scene is important, it becomes
trivial to figure out what is going to happen next, and that spoils
the film as I'm watching it. I need to be thrown off the scent with
dead-end scenes like the "mexican pimp" to enjoy a film.
:spoilers:
For example, Kiddo is buried alive, then they cut to the scene with
the white-haired master. What do they focus on? Kiddo trying to
punch through wood from 3-inches away. It was trivial to figure out
WHY they were showing me this because I just saw Kiddo buried in a
WOODEN casket. It was obvious the next step was for Kiddo to punch
thru the casket. I did not like that setup. There needed to be
filler there to throw off me off the scent. It ruined what could've
been a great scene. But, hollywood is all about cutting filler.

Yeah.. i could have done with quite a few scenes dropped from both
films, less in V1, while even say keeping a 3 hour cut of the film for
the 'epic feel'. A lot of V2 was entirely filler.. Budd's job... the
mexican pimp.. the spiderman story.. etc. It felt like Tarantino just
didn't know when to stfu and let the movie flow and as such had to
throw in everything he could dream up under the sun into the two
films. V1 i liked a lot... V2 bored me to tears in a lot of parts.

Hmm... my understanding was that he told her where she needed to go.
Why exactly is that a red herring? Maybe i missed something being
bored to tears with the endless padding.

And in turn not care about the flow of the film. Np. I care about flow
sorry.

Agreed. I could have done with 15 minutes less talking in the second one
in exchange for the Go-Go's sister-revenge sequence in the first one. |

"I especially enjoyed the outtake at the end with Uma plucking out the
eyeball of one of the Crazy 88s."
This was not an outtake. It is in Vol. 1 I believe just as that scene goes
to black & white.

Seeing as how you could hear Quentin yell "Action" and then afterwards watch
Uma ask if she could do it again, I consider it an outtake.

Well... my main want was that the coherent total story be told in one
setting. You can nip/tuck here and there to make that happen. Having a
4.5 hour(or however long the finished movie is) revenge film is just a
director in need of an editor, story and film. There wasn't a lot that
was pivotal that couldn't have been trimmed/reworked to make it a
tight, fast ride while still being an 'epic feel' at like 3 hours
long. One of the bad parts of directors with a 'vision' is that you
can get a situation where everything they write as being gospel, they
don't want to get rid of anything, and you get overly pompous and
uneven films. Heck.. i'm sure Pulp Fiction could have been a 3 film
fest with 15 more stories involved... but it would have watered down
the impact that the as current movie has. You're trying to tell a
story, not wallow in your own writing.
