Hi there,
i'm going to shoot my first super8 film this week with my
new / old eumig mini 3. But i haven't got a clue when to use
that "plug-in" key. I have a type a film, so that means its
a film for artificial light right ? So when do i push the key in ?
When i'm filming outside or inside ? i really don't want
bad colors ...

There is an automatic (orange) filter that is in place when you are outdoors in
sunlight, and is pushed out of the apeture for artificial light when a
movielight is plugged into the slot. So if you use a movielight attached to
the camera, it just happens automatically.
But if you are using separate artificial lights, you need to make the camera
believe that a movie light is plugged in (otherwise it will think it's
outdoors). That's where the key comes in. Put the key in the slot and the
camera will think a movie light is plugged in, and the filter will be pushed
out of the way so that the film is exposed correctly.
When filming outdoors, leave the key out. When filming indoors with artificial
lighting, put the key in (or put a movie light there in the same slot)

The usual arrangement is that with the filter key out, the filter is in
place for daylight filming.
When the key is pushed in, such as when plugging a movie light in the top,
then the daylight filter is retracted.
