VITAPHONE NIGHT special guest Ron Hutchinson of the Vitaphone Project.
A program featuring recently restored treats from the Hal Roach
studios.
See and HEAR Max Davidson, Edgar Kennedy, Eddie Dunn and beautiful
Thelma Todd in HURDY GURDY(new restored soundtrack, not seen or HEARD
since it's original theatrical release in 1929), along with WE FAW
DOWN featuring the original Vitaphone musical accompaniment and sound
effects and see and HEAR Laurel & Hardy in BRATS (new soundtrack from
1930 Vitaphone discs). The soundtrack is so clear that you'll hear
things you've never heard before

the original theatrical trailer for THE ROGUE SONG
PLUS
GEORGIE PRICE IN 'DON'T GET NERVOUS' (1929) comedy with songs about
making a Vitaphone short in the Brooklyn studio
JACK OSTERMAN in 'TALKING IT OVER' (1929) - Great monologist and
songwriter who inspired Bob Hope's delivery
HARRY WAYMAN'S DEBUTANTES (1928) - all girl band
HAPPINESS BOYS (1926) - Billy Jones & Ernie Hare
GENTLEMEN OF POLISH (MGM/1934)
Rare, unseen Shaw & Lee 2 reeler which incorporates outtakes from
HOLLYWOOD PARTY. Hilarious start to finish. Directed by Alf Goulding.
None are out on DVD or have been on TCM, and except for the last were
shown once at Film Forum. The last has not been seen since initial
release
